š“ 12-Step Program for Card Collectors Anonymous š“
āBecause one deck is never enoughā¦ā
Step 1: Admission
We admitted we were powerless over new deck releasesāthat our shelves, wallets, and relationships had become unmanageable.
Step 2: Belief
We came to believe that a power greater than Kickstarter (maybe our spouse?) could restore us to sanity.
Step 3: Surrender
We made a decision to turn our will and our PayPal over to the care of reason and restraint.
Step 4: Inventory
We made a fearless and honest inventory of all the unopened decks we said weād use āone day.ā
Step 5: Confession
We admitted to ourselves, our friends, and the mailman the exact nature of our obsession (and apologized for all the strange packages).
Step 6: Readiness
We became entirely ready to stop buying five decks just because āone day theyāll be rare.ā
Step 7: Humility
We humbly asked our storage space to make room for decks we actually use.
Step 8: List-Making
We made a list of all the people we convinced to ājust buy one deck,ā and became willing to apologize to them all.
Step 9: Amends
We made direct amends where possibleāoften by giving away a deck or two (yes, it was painful).
Step 10: Daily Check
We continued to take personal inventoryāand when tempted by foil embossing and tuck box art, we promptly checked our bank balance.
Step 11: Reflection
We sought through meditation and shuffling to improve our connection to what we actually love about cardsānot just the collecting.
Step 12: Sharing the Magic
Having had a card-awakening, we tried to carry this message to other collectors and to practice real restraint (except for limited editions⦠weāre not saints).

Keep it light, keep it fun, and remember: youāre not alone. Thereās always room for just one more deck⦠š
