Zero is the foundation of the cosmos. Without nothing, all would coalesce into one giant mass devoid of any form or composition. It is abstract, but the simplest concept to grasp, even by a toddler. The beginning and some say the end of all, is the theme for our deck.

The design of the deck is inspired by the Art Deco movement of the 1920s and 1930s, a time when extraordinary leaps were made in the fields of physics and chemistry.

The front of the tuck box is simple, there are no words, taglines, or branding, just the number zero in orange foil, held in between two brackets the cardinality of an empty set or null set in mathematics. The rings foiled in gunmetal are converging or diverging from the text signifying the nature of the number; the beginning, and the end of everything.

Only the central part of the front design is debossed taking inspiration from a black hole, except for the title of the deck which is raised, giving a tactile response as you feel the details of the tuck.

The back of the tuck is a cosmic representation of the number as if the number zero is held at the center of an abstract atom, and the whole cosmic existence is emerging from it. The ring's design is orange foiled intermittently coupled with a dark gun metal foil giving depth to the design. Furthermore, like the front of the tuck box, the back has only its central design debossed, giving further breathing room and depth to the spiraling abstract design that is central to the tuck box's back.

The true fun of the Zero Playing Cards deck comes out with the holographic foiling. Since Zero is the beginning and end of everything we know in creation, we thought a holographic foil would be the ideal representation of the theme through a foil that breaks the spectrum into its infinite constituent shades.

As you open the holographic edition you will be greeted with the spiral design making up the back of the tuck box, just inverted where the design now is in negative space. There is also a line that says, "The glass is empty, now begin" Which is a reverse play on the idea of an empty glass having the potential to hold anything from then onwards.
